What Makes Us Different From Other Sarasota Personal Injury Lawyers?
Our firm is nationally ranked as a Tier One Law Firm by US News and World Report. This is the highest ranking that can be awarded. We are dedicated and involved in the community. Our
Sarasota personal injury lawyers are all highly credentialed. For decades, our personal injury lawyers have been receiving awards from our peers, the judges we practice in front of, and from numerous lawyer ranking systems.
Our personal injury lawyers all have substantial experience in the courtroom. Unlike many small firms, we have the financial resources to challenge any insurance company. Unlike the large, high volume firms that advertise everywhere, we deliver personalized attention to our clients. Many of our clients and their families use our firm for a variety of legal matters. We are loyal to our clients and our clients are loyal to us. This relationship is truly unique.
What Can You Expect During Your Case?
All personal injury cases are different. We encourage our clients to use our experience as a resource throughout the case. You are never charged more for asking questions. During your case, you will communicate with our office regularly as you receive medical treatment. You will update us on changes in your treatment and when you have seen a new doctor. It is important to follow your doctor’s orders and to make your appointments. In virtually every case, you will be sent to get an
MRI to determine the extent of the injury. Once your treatment ends, our office will submit a demand for compensation to the insurance company. The amount of the demand depends on how much insurance coverage is available, your injuries, lost wages, medical bills and medical liens.
Are There Risks?
Personal injury claims are not risky. You only pay your lawyer a fee and reimburse costs if you actually recover the money, so there is no risk when it comes to owing a lawyer. In most auto accident cases, there is up to $10,000 of no-fault or PIP benefits to pay for medical treatment and lost wages. Most cases settle without having to even file a lawsuit. In almost all cases you never have to pay anything out of pocket either. Therefore, the risks to a client to set up and pursue a personal claim are extremely limited. It is encouraged that if you have been injured, to at least call and speak to one of our personal injury lawyers to better understand the process. If there are any risks associated with your specific situation, our lawyers have an ethical obligation to inform you. We pride ourselves in keeping our clients informed and satisfied with their legal services.
How Long Do Cases Normally Take?
All injuries are different, but there are certain rules of thumb that we try to follow. For injuries that only require conservative care such as chiropractic or physical therapy, treatment should conclude within 4-5 months. It is our goal to get the demand out to the insurance company by the 6-month mark. If a case involves more intensive care such as an injection(s), the case will normally be continued by a few months. If a case involves radiofrequency ablation (RFA) or other surgery, then the case will normally last at least a year before it is ready for demand. If we are unable to settle the case at this stage, we may recommend the filing of a lawsuit. A lawsuit normally lasts from several months to a couple of years before it can be concluded.
